Algebra/Intervention Class
Teacher: Ms. Nutsch
Shadow Class Description:
The math shadow classes are designed to give students the additional
support they need to succeed in their current math classes. The shadow
class will follow the curriculum of the student's regular mathematics
class. The shadow class enables teachers to further explain or develop
classroom topics by using manipulatives and investigations. A portion
of the class will also be spent on review of previous years concepts and
pre-teaching of new concepts. The students will have the opportunity to
work with their teacher and other students in a small group format in
order to receive the individual attention they may need. This class
will take the place of one elective course.
Grading will be PASS/FAIL
Students will start with 100 participation points. To keep these points students must:
· Attend class every day.
· Arrive to class on time and be prepared. (10 points deducted for each tardy.)
· Engaged
and attentive throughout the class period, this includes taking notes.
(10 points deducted for lack of attentiveness or note taking.)
· Respond
to questions and actively participate in class discussions/activities.
(10 points deducted for lack of participation or cooperation.)
Students must have at least 60 points at end of quarter to receive a Pass.
Please cut off and return to Ms. Nutsch by Friday, August 20th.
